Free and Promo Transfers to the Philippines (Updated Weekly)

By the MoneyTransfer.ph team (Dominet BV). Updated · Facts checked · How we compare

The short answer

  • Last checked 21 Oct 2026. We recheck this list every week and date every offer.
  • Remitly, Western Union and WorldRemit have first transfer offers for new customers; Wise has a referral offer; Xoom has standing zero fee options for some US transfers.
  • A zero fee doesn't mean free. The exchange rate can still include a margin, so compare the pesos received.
  • Promos are for new customers, usually once. Plan your regular padala around the standard price.

Last checked: 21 Oct 2026 (PHT). We review every offer on this page weekly against the provider's own website or terms. Offers change without notice and can differ by country, amount, payout method and how you pay. The provider's app always has the final terms.

"Libre ba?" Sometimes, at least for the first transfer. Here are the current first transfer promos and zero fee options for sending money to the Philippines, with the catch for each one.

Remitly: welcome rate and no fee

On 21 Oct 2026, Remitly's US to Philippines page advertised a welcome rate and no fees on the first transfer for new customers, with the promotional exchange rate applying to the first 1,000 USD. Remitly also runs a "Transfer Bonus and Zero-fee Transaction" promotion for customers who sign up through a specific landing page; its published terms say it runs from 7 Oct 2026 to 31 Dec 2027 and is limited to one per customer, with a minimum first transfer.

The catch: it's once only, and it can't be combined with other Remitly offers. After the first transfer, normal fees and rates apply. Offers in other sending countries (UAE, UK, Canada, Japan) differ; check the app.

Western Union: USD 0 fee on the first online transfer

Western Union's US site offered a USD 0 transfer fee on a new customer's first online transfer. Its terms exclude transfers paid by credit card.

The catch: the fee is zero, but Western Union also earns from the exchange rate. Compare the pesos received with another app before you send. Pay by bank account or debit card to qualify.

WorldRemit: 3FORYOU

WorldRemit advertised the promo code 3FORYOU for new customers, covering their first three transfers. It pays to GCash, bank accounts and cash pickup in the Philippines.

The catch: the benefit depends on your sending country and the terms in the app at the time you enter the code. Check that the discount shows on the review screen before you pay.

Wise: referral fee free transfer

Wise doesn't usually run welcome rate promos, because it already uses the mid-market rate. Instead it has a referral program. On 21 Oct 2026, Wise's UK referral terms offered an invited friend a fee free transfer of up to £500.

The catch: you need a referral link from an existing Wise customer, and the terms differ by country. Wise doesn't offer cash pickup, and wallet transfers to GCash or Maya are capped at 50,000 PHP each.

Xoom: standing zero fee options (US)

Xoom isn't running a classic first transfer promo here, but its own fee page lists combinations with no Xoom transfer fee for USD to the Philippines, including paying from a bank account to a Philippine bank deposit for 250 to 5,999.99 USD, and paying from a bank account to a mobile wallet for less than 2,000 USD.

The catch: Xoom also earns from the exchange rate, and paying by card costs more. Xoom has announced fee changes for US customers effective 3 Nov 2026, so check the fee calculator.

"Zero fee" isn't "free"

This is the most important line on the page. A provider can charge no fee and still make money on the exchange rate. To see the real cost:

  1. Enter the same amount in two apps.
  2. Compare the pesos your family receives.
  3. If you want a percentage, divide the pesos received by what you paid and compare with the reference rate on our hub page.

A promo that saves a 3 USD fee but uses a weaker rate can still send fewer pesos than a competitor's standard price.

How to use promos wisely

  • Use one promo per provider, then compare standard prices. Your 12 regular transfers a year matter more than one discounted transfer.
  • Send your biggest planned amount on the promo if the promo rate covers it (for example, Remitly's welcome rate covers the first 1,000 USD in the US).
  • Pay with a bank account or debit card. Credit card payments are often excluded from promos and cost more. See our credit card guide.
  • Don't create multiple accounts. Providers' terms forbid it and can cancel the promo or the account.
  • Read the terms in the app. Minimum amounts, payout methods and eligible countries vary.

Where offers come from

We only list offers we can see on the provider's own website, app screens or published terms. We don't list codes from coupon sites we can't verify. If an offer disappears or changes, we update or remove it at the next weekly check, and we change the "last checked" date at the top.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send money to the Philippines for free?

Sometimes, at least without a transfer fee. Remitly, Western Union and WorldRemit have first transfer offers, and Xoom has zero fee options for some US transfers. The exchange rate still includes a margin, so it's rarely completely free.

Which app has the best first transfer promo for the Philippines?

It depends on your country and amount. Compare the pesos received with each promo applied. A promo rate that covers a larger amount, like Remitly's first 1,000 USD in the US, can be worth more than a waived fee.

Can I use a promo with a credit card?

Often not. Western Union's USD 0 first online transfer excludes credit card payments, and card payments usually cost more anyway.

How often is this page updated?

We check every offer weekly and show the date of the last check at the top of the page.
