SAR to PHP Today: Mid-Market Rate and What Remittance Apps Actually Pay

By the MoneyTransfer.ph team (Dominet BV). Updated · Facts checked · How we compare

The short answer

  • The rate below is a reference rate, refreshed at least twice a day, with its source and the time we checked it in Philippine time.
  • The riyal is pegged to the US dollar at 3.75, so SAR to PHP moves with USD to PHP.
  • Remittance services in Saudi Arabia pay less than the reference. Work out your effective rate (pesos received divided by riyals paid, fee included) to compare them.

"Magkano ang riyal ngayon?" Every OFW in the Kingdom asks it before payday. This page gives you a reference SAR to PHP rate with its source and time, explains why it barely moves day to day, and shows how to check what your bank, wallet or Western Union actually pays.

Saudi riyal to peso today

SAR to PHP reference rate (reference only)

1 SAR = 16.8603 PHP

Source: Frankfurter (blend of 26 central bank reference rates), rate date 21 Oct 2026. Checked .

No central bank in the source set publishes Saudi riyal to peso directly, so this is Frankfurter's own cross-rate calculation. It is a reference, not an official BSP rate and not what any exchange house will pay.

What SAR amounts equal in pesos at the reference rate, before any fee or margin
You sendAt the reference rate
500 SARPHP 8,430.15
1,000 SARPHP 16,860.30
3,000 SARPHP 50,580.90

This is a benchmark, not a quote. Remittance providers add a fee, a margin on the rate, or both, so your family receives less than this. How we use rates.

Paalala: Hindi kami nagpapadala ng pera. Ang rate at fee ay estimate lang, kasama ang source at oras. I-check ang final amount sa provider bago magbayad.

Why "reference only". No central bank in our source's data set publishes a riyal to peso rate directly. Frankfurter, the free service we use, calculates SAR to PHP itself from central bank reference rates. It's a solid mid-market benchmark, but it is not an official BSP rate, and no remittance service will pay exactly this number.

Why SAR to PHP follows the dollar

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has pegged the riyal to the US dollar at 3.75 riyals per dollar since 1986, and has repeatedly reaffirmed it. So:

  • SAR to PHP is roughly the USD to PHP rate divided by 3.75.
  • When the peso weakens against the dollar, your riyals buy more pesos. When the peso strengthens, they buy fewer.
  • Day-to-day changes in SAR to PHP are small, usually a few centavos, unless the peso moves sharply against the dollar.

For comparison, here is today's dollar reference:

USD to PHP mid-market reference rate

1 USD = 63.226 PHP

Source: Frankfurter (blend of 26 central bank reference rates), rate date 21 Oct 2026. Checked .

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas reference rate for the same date, as carried by Frankfurter: 1 USD = 63.10 PHP.

What USD amounts equal in pesos at the reference rate, before any fee or margin
You sendAt the reference rate
100 USDPHP 6,322.60
500 USDPHP 31,613.00
1,000 USDPHP 63,226.00

This is a benchmark, not a quote. Remittance providers add a fee, a margin on the rate, or both, so your family receives less than this. How we use rates.

Paalala: Hindi kami nagpapadala ng pera. Ang rate at fee ay estimate lang, kasama ang source at oras. I-check ang final amount sa provider bago magbayad.

Divide the USD figure by 3.75 and you'll land very close to the SAR figure above. The tiny difference comes from rounding and from how Frankfurter blends its central bank sources.

What remittance services in Saudi Arabia actually pay

People search for "SAR to PHP today Western Union", "Al Rajhi", "Enjaz" and "STC Pay" because the rate that matters is the one your service pays. We don't copy those rates here. They change through the day and differ by amount and payout method, and we don't copy rates from provider websites. The rate shown in your app at the moment you send is the one that counts.

What we can do is show you how to judge it in under a minute.

Step 1: get the full quote

In your app (Enjaz, Tahweel Al Rajhi, STC Bank, urpay, a Western Union partner or another service), enter the riyal amount you plan to send and the payout method. Note:

  • the rate offered,
  • the transfer fee, plus VAT on the fee if it's added,
  • the pesos your family will receive.

Step 2: work out your effective rate

Effective rate = pesos received ÷ total riyals paid (amount + fee + VAT).

Step 3: compare it with the reference

Subtract your effective rate from today's reference rate above, then divide by the reference rate. That's your total cost as a percentage.

Example with round numbers, not real quotes: reference 16.80. You send 1,500 SAR, the fee is 15 SAR plus 15% VAT (2.25 SAR), total 1,517.25 SAR. Your family receives 24,650 PHP. Effective rate: 24,650 ÷ 1,517.25 ≈ 16.25. Gap: 0.55, about 3.3% of the reference.

Do the same with a second service. Whichever has the smaller gap is cheaper for that transfer.

What's a reasonable gap?

It varies by service, amount and payout method, so we don't publish a "normal" number. What we can say: on the same day, two services can differ by a few hundred pesos on a typical monthly transfer, which is why the 60 second check is worth it. Cash pickup and small amounts tend to cost more as a percentage than bank deposits and larger amounts.

SAR to PHP at the reference rate: quick conversions

The table under today's rate shows 500, 1,000 and 3,000 SAR at the reference rate. To convert any amount yourself, multiply the riyals by the reference rate. Remember it is the before-fees benchmark; your family will receive less.

When is the best time to send?

Nobody can reliably predict the peso. Because SAR is pegged to the dollar, what matters is whether the peso is weak or strong against the dollar at the moment. Some practical points:

  • Don't wait for a "better rate" if your family needs the money now. The difference from a few days' waiting is usually smaller than a difference in fees between services.
  • Compare services, not days. Picking the cheaper service usually saves more than timing the rate.
  • If you send large amounts, splitting a big transfer over a few weeks smooths out rate swings.

Where to go next

How we get this rate

We fetch SAR to PHP from Frankfurter's public API on our server, cache it for up to 12 hours and re-render this page at least every 6 hours. Every figure shows the source's rate date and the time we checked it in Philippine time (PHT, UTC+8). If our last successful check is more than 36 hours old, or the source hasn't published for several days, we hide the number and show "unavailable" instead of an old rate. Frequently asked questions

What is the SAR to PHP rate today?

See the reference rate at the top of this page, with its source (Frankfurter), rate date and the time we checked it in PHT. Remittance services will pay somewhat less than this reference rate.

Is this the rate Western Union or Al Rajhi will give me?

No. It's a mid-market reference. Western Union, Tahweel Al Rajhi, Enjaz, STC Bank and others set their own rates and fees. Check the rate in your app, then compare it with this reference using the effective rate method above.

Why is SAR to PHP almost the same every day?

Because the Saudi riyal is pegged to the US dollar at 3.75. It only moves when the peso moves against the dollar.

Is this an official BSP rate?

No. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas publishes a reference rate for the US dollar. Frankfurter calculates the riyal to peso rate from central bank data, so we label it reference only.

How much is 1,000 riyals in pesos today?

Multiply 1,000 by the reference rate at the top of the page; the table under the rate shows it too. Your family will receive less after the service's margin and fee.
